About Us…
Our Story
Mount Cars has been run by the same family consistently in the Chingford area for the past 40+ years making it one of the longest running local businesses in the area.
Established in 1978 by David Trotman, Mount Cars have always aimed to offer the local community an efficient, affordable and safe transport link. David (known more fondly as Dave) started his venture as a driver who pushed boundaries. He was challenged by a former operator, when sharing ideas to improve the operations: ‘If you think you can do better, then do it’, so he did!.
David set up Mount Cars and became a pioneer in the private hire trade, elevating Mount Cars into the future as one of the first digital booking offices in London, moving from a long term set up of pen, paper and a CB radio into the digital age with a fully automated booking system, something unseen at the time in the industry!. The mantra has never changed at mount cars and it still operates under the Trotman family name, now overseen by David’s son Robert Trotman.
Robert, grew up in and around the trade, in and out of the family office as a youngster and much like his dad in his younger days he helped out as a driver. He grew up in the operating office and knows the company like no one else. With his fresh ideas and pushing the limits attitude, Mount Cars continues to be a small powerhouse in the Private Hire Industry, always with the intention of growing, evolving and building into a bigger and better company while always offering good quality, knowledgeable and friendly drivers in clean, modern, well-maintained vehicles on the road and friendly, helpful and qualified staff in their offices all supported by state of the art software.
The private hire (minicab) industry is fast moving and highly competitive. We have always endeavoured to provide both our drivers out on the road and our office staff with market leading technology, provided by software providers Cordic and YesTech to ensure they can work at the highest level. Our state-of-the-art drivers’ apps provide the drivers with all the relevant information regarding their passenger’s jobs, working in conjunction with our booking software in our offices, our customer apps and webbooker offers a seamless collaboration. From the first point of contact to you completing your trip you are in safe hands where every aspect of your trip is logged in fine detail including where the driver collected you from, where they dropped you off, at precise timings even down to the speeds the driver was travelling at and all our calls are recorded for training and security.
Mount Cars acquired our former competitor Advance Cars as well as High Street Cars Increasing our driver fleet, customer database and area coverage. We now have offices stationed in Chingford Mount, North Chingford and Walthamstow. Our newest aqusition is Bailey Gardner Cars in Highams Park. A stable office to the local community and one we aspire to bring back to it former glory. We expect this to take place in the last 1/4 of 2025. We have also signed up to Cordics market first system Super Yes. A local office link up like no other which allows us to share other offices drivers and work as well as theirs with us regardless of the operating system they use. This merger allows us access to hundreds more drivers, covering almost the whole of the London area more easily, leading to less ‘dead milage’ causing less harmful emissions to the environment, better earnings for our drivers and a better more efficient service for our customers. We are better suited than ever to keep Waltham Forest Moving!

For bookings 5 of more days ahead, we only accept card payments, our system will send you out a paylink via sms and email, 4 days before your booking date, if this is not used, it will send a follow up 24 hours before. No vehicle will be sent until payment has been cleared prior to booking.

Loyalty Membership
If you already have a loyalty membership with us but have maybe forgotten your membership number or Pin number or are not sure if you have applied before or not then please contact us and we will look into this for you and advise if we have an active membership for you or not and provide you with your details.
Loyalt Membership T&C’s
- Our Loyalty Membership offers you upto 10% off all your trips, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- We reserve the right to end the scheme at any time and without notice.
- Your unique loyalty number is yours and yours only, it will not be applied unless you are travelling in the vehicle and if deemed to have been used without you travelling it will be revoked, from the trip.
- Misuse can and will result in your membership number being cancelled without replacement.
- Abuse towards office staff and/or drivers will result in your membership being cancelled without replacement and possible blacklisting from our services.
- It is your responsibility to provide your unique number to be eligible for your discount. Staff do not have access to it and will only verify it on booking.
- You must quote your unique loyalty number AT THE POINT OF BOOKING, our booking agents are unable to source your number or apply your code once your car is booked.
- Our IVR (Automated telephone booking system) can not add loyalty discounts. To ensure it is added press 9 and speak to a booking agent. Once again it can not be added once the car is booked.
- Loyalty scheme currently only applies to telephone or in person bookings, It can not currently be applied to web-booker or app bookings.
- Loyalty discounts can not be applied to airport transfers either to or from an airport.
- Our loyalty scheme is only open to customers residing in the immediate area to our offices. Only residential postcodes of E4, IG8 and E17 will be activated. Other areas can apply but may not be accepted. This is down to managements discretion.
